Many consider the “Enterprising Women of the Year” awards to be the most prestigious award recognition for women entrepreneurs. This year, the Awards recognized our very own Kim Brattain, CEO of Kim Brattain Media. For the past 21 years, Enterprising Women magazine — which is published by women entrepreneurs for women entrepreneurs — has recognized women in business. The magazine chronicles the growing political, economic, and social influence of entrepreneurial women. It was millions of readers in countries around the world.
The highly-coveted Enterprising Women of the Year awards are the most prestigious global recognition for women entrepreneurs. Nominees come from across the country and must meet three criteria. These criteria are: a rapidly-growing business, mentoring or active support of other entrepreneurial women, and community leadership. This year Kim Brattain, CEO of Kim Brattain Media, won for her leadership in media production.
Kim Brattain began her media company in 2008 after a highly successful and Emmy-winning career as a television news anchor. Brattain’s goal in establishing Kim Brattain Media (KBM) was to use her experience to help corporations and nonprofits grow. She assembled a core team of individuals with diverse backgrounds to create videos that drive growth, accelerate brand awareness, and build community around organizations and individuals.
Under her leadership, KBM has won 26 Telly Awards for projects ranging from documentaries to corporate branding to social issue videos. In addition, Kim Brattain Media won three Muse awards for the company’s work. Kim has won many accolade during her career, however, the Enterprising Women of the Year award holds special meaning for her. “In my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible women whose encouragement and support helped me thrive as a television journalist in what was, at the time, a very male-dominated and often difficult world,” Brattain says. “I have always believed in paying that forward. As a result, being recognized as a business leader who actively supports women entrepreneurs assures me that I am making a difference. Not only for our clients, but for other women, also.”
When it comes to the future of her company, Brattain is decidedly optimistic. “Since day one, the highest quality of work and the most satisfied clients, have been our priorities” Brattain says. “Video is becoming increasingly important, and the KBM team is committed to excellence. We are excited to share our skills and the expertise we bring to the table! As a result, I see nothing but continued growth and blue skies ahead.” Want to learn more about KBM?
